Everything you need to know about our soon to be released Polar-Tech 220mm disc brake rotor

23 Oct 2024

The Polar-Tech 220mm rotor uses a three-part construction with the SUS410 stainless steel braking surface for powerful, consistent and progressive stopping power, Swiss manufactured stainless steel joining buttons, all supported by a CNC machined 7075 aerospace grade aluminium carrier. All this helps to keep weight to a minimum, whilst being able to cope with extreme levels of heat and brake force.

The Polar-Tech 220 rotor uses a brake band thickness of 1.95 millimetres. Along with this increased thickness, the brake surface features laser cut cutouts to create maximum airflow whilst been able to shed mud and water quickly from the braking surface. The rotor is secured by 6 x supplied steel T25 torx bolts.

You'll notice the inclusion of a circular cutout above the disc mounting holes. This is to hold the optional speed sensor magnet used on the rear wheels of e-bikes.

Combine this rotor with the Polar-Tech finned disc brake pads which feature our latest Graphene-Tec compound. This not only provides the highest level of heat dissipation and brake performance we've seen in a finned disc brake pad yet, but a reduction of copper used in the friction material makes this a much more environmentally friendly selection too. This is all done without compromising on any of the brake performance by using higher percentages of Graphene, Kevlar, and Ceramics in our latest compound.

Whatever your riding type, the Polar-Tech 220 rotors are a must have MTB upgrade for riders who want the best brake performance and to stand out from the crowd!
